Travel Tip Tuesday – Save Money When You Fly!

Travel tips to save. Follow these simple tips to save money during the holidays.

Save On Airport Parking

Airport parking prices go up around the holidays due to growing demand. See if a friend can take you to the airport, call a taxi, or search public transportation options.

Arrive Early
Millions of people will be traveling this holiday season.  Avoid the possible extra expenses incurred should you miss your flight. Plan for lots of traffic and long lines at registration and security, so be sure to arrive early.

Avoid Those Extra Airline Charges
Pack lighter if possible, with less luggage. If you do plan to check bags, record them online before heading to the airport. Omit wi-fi rates and do not buy food or drinks on the plane. Instead, pack snacks from home!

Get Flight Upgrades
If your flight is overbooked, try to negotiate an upgrade on your next flight. If you are a frequent traveler or member of the club with the airline you’re flying, you can also try to score an upgrade. Arrive early for your flight; it is much more difficult to negotiate in a hurry.

By using these tips as a guideline, you can better organize and prepare for your trip. Stay tuned to Travel Tip Tuesdays for more in-depth information about the best way to travel.
